Hello, my name is Clair Harrington, and I am an artist living in Reading, Berkshire.
I predominantly engage with acrylic paints on canvas as my medium of choice. Of late, I’ve been delving into experiments involving paper and foundational layers, exploring the depths and possibilities they offer to my artwork.

My artistic journey was profoundly influenced by a friend, Brenda Graham, a fabulous artist in her own right and previously an art teacher at Maiden Erlegh School, Wokingham. She encouraged me to take to watercolours while we were holidaying with friends in Kalyves, Crete.
After returning to the UK, I shelved my thoughts of painting, possibly doubting my ability. It was a timely conversation with Eva Sutton that introduced me to the Woodley and Earley Arts Group (WEAG). It was through WEAG that I started to learn new approaches and techniques. This, along with Eva’s continued support, got me to understand the direction I wanted to take.
Sun, sea and sky are the focus of my current work. Visits to Scotland and Essaouira in Morocco have proved inspirations. While dozens of photos provide a reminder of what I’ve seen, my paintings most often evolve on the easel.
I am an exhibiting member of the Reading Guild of Artists, a member of the Wokingham Art Society, and a member of the Woodley and Earley Arts Group.
